Social Media and Television, Radio

Many new stations across America are using social media to help its business by having Facebook and Twitter pages. In an article I read that newsrooms or television with a large staff are more likely to have a Twitter account then their smaller counterparts. TV stations using Twitter constantly for 36%, daily 35%, but all 13% do not use Twitter at all. TV stations are including more videos, blog in their websites to attract current and future viewers, but they are deleting items that are not helping the news station. May of the websites used by television stations is profitable even in the recession.

Radio stations does not use Facebook or Twitter like television. Recent polls revealed that 1% of radio stations in America do not have a Facebook page. It also found that 73% of the stations do not use Twitter as a source of getting more listeners to their station. However numerous of radio stations have websites but they do not always includes news stories or news videos. The just have text, comment section, and a playlist of songs.
